Hoffman Challenge "Kelp Bed"

This is my Hoffman Challenge quilt that I submitted in 2006. It did not get anything but it toured the galaxy for a year. It is paper pieced with 63 5 inch blocks. You don't get any extra points for the PIA factor. I only had to redo 2 blocks because I used the wrong color towards the center. I tried so hard to figure out a way to fix them but I couldn't. So those were the 2 blocks I practiced quilting on. The fish and the kelp are quilted. Everytime I attempted to quilt the background my thread would break so it didn't get quilted. There were way too many seams!
I hope to enter again when I like the challenge fabric.

That is really neat. I've seen a knitting pattern for a blanket with fishies like that. I wouldn't have known it was on paper if you hadn't said so. COOL

Nope, that is what it looks like on the other side of the state. It's rather flat frozen and boring around here. Thanks my creative mind is in over load right now. I need to work on finishing some of these things that I have started before I dare start any more. I found me a quilt pattern that I’d like to try one of these days.
